voxan cafe racer moteur

Hello, I’m Mario and I live in Genoa, northern Italy, 200 km to Nice.
I’m very sorry but i don’t speak french.
I need your help because I'm lookin for an angine to put in my voxan cafe racer 2005. In Italy voxan bikes are very rare, someone told me that there are only 2 bikes, I don't if It is true or not.
On Leboncoin I've seen two engine but i need something with price on planeth earth (5000 euro are too much I think).

Mi spiace davvero ma purtroppo non parlo francese.
Ho bisogno del vostro aiuto perché sto cercando un motore da montare sulla mia voxan cafe racer 2005.
In Italia le moto Voxan sono molto rare, qualcuno mi ha detto che ne esistono immatricolate solamente due, non so se sia vero o no.
Ho visto due motori su Laboncoin ma i prezzi mi sembravano davvero esagerati (5000 euro), mi serve qualcosa sul "pianeta terra".

Oui javais deja fais une reponse mais bon il n'a pas l'air de vouloir lâcher l'affaire, donc pourquoi ne pas l'aider a nouveau.

Et je pense que sans parler français et seul en Italie il doit se poser des questions

Hi Mario

What is the trouble with your engine ?
It could be a better choice to have it repaired instead of replacing it. At least, you will know what's inside and its real condition.

If there are only 2 Voxan in Italy and you want to do it by yourself it may be tough (especially to get support if you don't speak french) but you can bring/ship it to Manu Meca Moto or Motovox to get analysis/quote/repair. In both cases it is approximately 900 to 1000 Kms from your location.

If you can tell us more about what's wrong with your engine it may help ...

Hello to everyone,
I’ll try to exlain what happened to my bike. I was running on highway from Genoa to Milan and I was hearing a sound like ducati dry clutch from my engine. After a while the engine stops and I’m on the side of the read waiting for the tow truck. I wait the engine is cold and I try to start bet nothing happens, so I check the oil level and NOTHING. So you can immagine what I thought about my mechanic that check the bike 2 days before. 100 kms running with NO OIL.
Next week I and a friend of mine will check if the problem is only about the bottom of the engine (oil pump i.e. her said) but s a really weak hope.
I don’t exactly know part’s cost but I think is really more expensive to repair the engine than buy a used (running!) one.
That’s all.
What do you think?
I’m really sad, I like the bike, It is unique, 11.000 kms on the clock.

Hi
Looks that your mechanics forgot oil.
The result seems to be a disaster.
I think you should then not touch your engine and engage an action (justice if needed) so that your mechanics pays for the repair costs, including return transportation to Manu or Motovox.
If he is a professionnal he should have an insurrance to cover his mistake.

You are right, but I can't proceed in that way for many reason. I've broke my bike this summer, my mechanic is (was) a friend so he made the check of the bike as a gift for many ather work he have done over my other bikes. So I don't have any evidence he put his hand on my voxan. At last but not least I swor I'll never be in anger for bikes, otherwise is better to put them all in the junk.

my piece of advise

What about the volume of oil remaining in the engine after the stop? (1 or 2 liters, more)
Then, best for me is to remove the engine from the frame and then to send it to Manu (for exemple) and let him do the inspection of the damages and then the quote for having it repaired.
If all the spare parts are available it could be a good choice
Either you buy a running Voxan on whatever website you like (be careful about the fuel injection 45 or 54 mm) and then put the "new" motor on your frame.

Thamks for the answer. The oil level when i was on the side of the highway was not visible on the graduated rod. At home, to see something on the graduated rod. I put 1.5 lt of oil in the engine.
What about the fuel injection 45 or 54 mm? I though I can put on my 2005 cafe racer every engine before that year, also form roadster. It is not true? In my engine I have working fuel injection, so I can buy a motor without fuel injection and use my spares.

Hi Mario
As oil level check is a little bit special on the Voxan bikes (there is a dedicated topic to this) and has to be done when motor is hot after running at low rpm, I have no idea of the oil level in the conditions you checked it but I'm sure some owners, more specialists than me will answer on that one.

Regarding the year, your CR (black motor) should be a "Cazeau" model means 54 injection and compatible with CR after 2005, street, roadster after 2004, black Magic ...

but not sure Camshafts are all the same.

Tomorrow I'll take a picture to my bike and I'll put here in a my answer to know exactly what engine I have to looking for. I remember that my engine is grey, my CR is 2005 but maybe was built before and sold in 2005.
I have the Identification number of the bike: VN4V2020211000722
Engine identification number v2A021
Do you know something by those number

Hi
If your engine is silver grey the CR is a "Gardette" one.
The serial number matches with a 2001 model.
So you should look for a CR or Roadster "before 2003" motor with 45 injection.
We will confirm with the picture

Hello to everyone.
Good news Yesterday evening . A friend of mine opened the engine and here ore some pictures. Bolts frome plates went around and That is what happened to alternatour, flywheel and reu libre BUT crankshaft, pistons, cylinder, head seem to be OK.
